Lititz Watch Technicum, Lititz, Pennsylvania
A not-for-profit foundation, the Technicum, is fully subsidized by Rolex, which underwrites the $10,000-a-year tuition for all students and helps subsidize the cost of tools, which run about $5,000 per student.
The Curriculum
The Lititz Watch Technicum is a WOSTEP partnership school. Our curriculum combines centuries-old watchmaking techniques with the latest diagnostic applications utilizing state-of-the-art electronic equipment.
The Lititz Watch Technicum is the pathway to a fascinating and rewarding futurein the high quality after-sales service environment.
Enrollment criteria:
Patience, excellent manual dexterity, hand eye coordination, problem solving skills. Previous watchmaking education or related professional experience a plus. Strong overall technical inclination required. Communication skills (written and oral), flexibility, and social intelligence required.
Must pass a one day flexible entry exam.
Length of program:
Two years, full time 3500 hours. Attendance is compulsory.
Job prospects upon graduation:
There is generally a high demand for qualified watchmakers with major watch brands and retail jewelers
Since this is not an accredited program there is no assistance through Veterans Affairs.
