Gem City College, Quincy, IllinoisGem City College has one of the more highly known Watchmaking schools in the United States. We are approved for veterans training and are handicapped accessible. Students begin their training on any Monday (other than a holiday) and progress through the program at their own learning pace within the maximum training time allowed (1 1/2 times the program length). The school uses a system of individual instruction and a step-by-step method of training. Each year we receive more job opportunities than we have graduates to fill. The Gem City training program is recognized by the watchmaking industry and by leading retail establishments throughout the nation. Watchmaking & Repairing Course The School of Horology is in session Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Upon completion of this course, the student may take the examination of the American Watchmaker's Institute (AWCI) to achieve the status of Certified Master Watchmaker (CMW).
