N.G. Hayek Watchmaking School, Miami, Florida

Nicolas G. Hayek is the founder of the Swatch Group which owns 19 watch brands including Breguet, Blancpain, Jaquet Droz, Glashutte Original, Union Glashutte, Leon Hatot, Omega SA, Tiffany & Co., Rado, Longines, Swatch, Tissot, Calvin Klein, Certina, Mido, Pierre Bal-main, Hamilton, Flik Flak and Endura.

Swatch Group US offers several opportunities for our returning military. For those serious about taking up full mechanical watchmaking as a career there is the Nicolas G. Hayek Watchmaking school. This WOSTEP certified program is a two year curriculum that provides all of the required elements to obtain a watchmaker certificate.

Swatch Group US provides this program as NO COST, the student only has the responsibility to purchase and keep the required tools throughout the course(approximately $2500.00). Swatch Group makes these tools available by pre-purchasing them from the suppliers in Switzerland at their group discount which is passed onto the students. The school enrolls 8 students each September. Classes are Monday - Friday, 7 1/2 hours a day, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

In addition, there is a separate training facility in the Miami, FL workshop that provides specific movement and brand related courses. The Trainer, Mr. Dan Fenwick, is well known and respected throughout the industry and has been an assessor for WOSTEP and AWCI certifications.
